Welcome
Welcome to The Funny Indian Newsletter!
I can finally stop bugging you about my standup comedy special taping because… it’s over and I’m happy to report that it went amazingly well.
THANK YOU, LA, for embracing me with such warmth and enthusiasm on Thursday. 250 of you packed the house to the brim and it was quite something to drop not 75 but 90 minutes of standup. And for those who couldn't make it, we didn't need ya anyway because it was sold out. KIDDING. I felt the love on social media and from around the world — and every bit helped. I'm hesitant to thank anyone specific just yet so as not to leave anyone out, but obviously, a huge shout-out to the staff at The Bourbon Room; host Aaron Mliner; special guest Jonathan Kite; our photographer and designer, Sheena Lad; our videographer, Artour, who's already begun the editing process; and those who traveled in from NorCal, Cincinnati, New York, and beyond, including, of course, my friends and my family. Much more to come but couldn't wait another minute without expressing my gratitude. Love you all!
Musings
Strike It Up
During these strikes, it’s important to appreciate the inherent genius of the American Entertainment Industry. Many performers are subject to anxiety and depression. Fortunately, Los Angeles is world-famous for its laid-back vibes. And New York for its quintessential energy. So, all you need to do is fly LAX/JFK as needed. When you’re anxious, come to LA and chill out. When you’re depressed, go to NY and turn up. Being bicoastal might help you from being bipolar. #WGAStrong #sagaftrastrong

Since this is a FUNNY Indian Newsletter, I present here the 5 funny things that I saw, heard, wrote, or remembered for the last month... otherwise known as FIVE - Funny Indian's V Events.
5. I booked a hosting gig where I had to discuss Compaq. In doing my research, I stumbled upon this old John Cleese ad. I had no idea Compaq computers were considered hip — in my own lifetime.
4. I fell a bit ill the night before my 7/27 show. For inspiration, I pulled up “Michael Jordan flu game.” I’d never seen this before and I literally LOLd.
3. It’s all social constructs.
2. Sad but true.
1. I’m not saying I agree with this. I do, but that’s not what I’m saying.
