Greetings from Los Angeles! It’s been a fun month of Desi Chain shows, corporate gigs (thank you, Boston Scientific), and air travel for the first time since July 2020.
Glad to see our vaccination rates climbing. Sad to see the motherland suffering so. Please consider donating to the various charities sending aid to India.
Now the news.
Tune in tonight (Thursday) at 8 PM ET for another episode of our game show.

At my parents’, helping them clean out their basement. What a dope time to find this gem. My Mom’s a huge fan. OK, so that’s not her poster, but this is her picture.
As I once told The REAL Russell Peters, “It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot” was my favorite rap album when it dropped. Pre-Kanye West, it was rare in hip-hop to listen to albums all the way through. “Ruff Ryder’s Anthem” was actually far from my favorite track because it was so loaded with ill tracks. I must’ve listened to the whole thing 50+ times in a year.
I interned on Capitol Hill in 1999, and when I told my roommate, a college football player (not at Calvin College, though), I thought DMX was so tight, he immediately replied, “Mind your business, lady.” I about died laughing. THAT was the line he picked up?
Btw, the basement was such a mess, we could’ve renamed it, “It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot.”
Rest in Power, DMX. #getatmedog
A day many listen to Pink Floyd
A SpaceX craft docked with the International Space Station, 250 miles above the planet, traveling @ 80 football fields per minute.
Meanwhile, back on Earth, we had to hire someone on TaskRabbit to help us assemble our Ektorp sofa from IKEA.
The Academy Awards are this Sunday. Name the 9 men who've won two Oscars for Best Actor. (Noted: It’s now 10.)
Since this is a FUNNY Indian Newsletter, I present here the 5 funny things that I saw, heard, wrote, or remembered for the last month... otherwise known as FIVE - Funny Indian's V Events.
5. While it’s not intended to be wholly hilarious, my friend Dr. Kien Vuu released a book. You can buy it here.
4. My friend, Coonoor Behal, also dropped her book. I cracked some jokes about quitting on the Zoom call this week. Buy her book here. Not just because I tell my quitting story in it. Although that’s a good enough reason.
1. It kinda has to be Glenn Close’s doing Da Butt, right?
We just needed Bill Swerski’s Super Fans yelling, “DA Butt.”
THANK YOU to all of you for your support. You are my true core of fans — I couldn't do this without you. If you think this may spark joy for your friends during this difficult time, please feel free to forward it along...
